SPORTING HISTORY

& ALUMNI

The John Fisher School has a national reputation for its sporting achievements across a range of sports including; rugby, cross-country, cricket and athletics.

Our School has twice won the National Schools' Seven-a-side Rugby Tournament; and we were runners-up on three occasions. In 2009 the 1stXV were semi-finalists in the Daily Mail RBS Cup and in 2000 our U15 were finalists in the Daily Mail Cup played at Twickenham. In Cricket our 1stXI has an annual fixture with the MCC and were finalists in the 2006 Independent Schools Twenty/20 competition played at Edgbaston. John Fisher boys regularly represent clubs, counties and their country at schoolboy level throughout the year.

At a time when many state schools have abolished Saturday sports fixtures it is of great pride that our School is able to regularly put out over twenty teams each weekend competing against some of the very best state, public and independent schools in the country.
