Nurturing the Whole Person
At The John Fisher School we are committed to the holistic development of every student. Rooted in Catholic values, our pastoral care system ensures that students feel safe, supported, and encouraged in their academic and personal growth.
Our Pastoral Care Structure
Form Tutors
Each student is assigned a Form Tutor, who serves as the first point of contact for any concerns. Tutors meet with students daily, monitoring their well-being and progress.
Year Heads & Pastoral Leaders
Our Year Heads oversee the welfare of students in their respective year groups, working closely with form tutors to provide guidance and support. They help address academic, social, and emotional challenges.
Chaplain
Faith is at the heart of our pastoral care. Our school chaplain provides spiritual guidance and Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation are available. Retreats and religious activities offer opportunities for students to deepen their faith.
Counselling & Well-being Support
We recognise the importance of mental and emotional health. Counselling is available to provide support for students facing personal challenges.
Safeguarding & Student Welfare
The safety and protection of our students are paramount. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) ensures that any concerns about a student’s welfare are addressed promptly and appropriately. We work closely with parents, external agencies, and professionals to provide the best possible care.
Support Services
-
Mentoring & Peer Support – Older students mentor younger students, fostering a strong sense of community.
-

We are here to support every student on their journey to success, ensuring they grow in faith, wisdom, and character.
