JOHN FISHER SCHOOL

CHAPLAINCY

At The John Fisher School, our Chaplaincy is at the heart of our vibrant school community. Guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, our Chaplaincy aims to nurture the spiritual, emotional, and moral growth of each student, ensuring that faith and learning go hand in hand. We strive to create an environment where every individual feels valued, supported, and encouraged to develop a deep personal relationship with God.

Faith in Action

Our Chaplaincy is not simply about religious observance; it’s about living out our faith in all aspects of daily life. We provide students with the opportunity to participate in regular Masses and times of prayer, as well as a variety of spiritual activities that encourage reflection, personal growth, and commitment to service. These opportunities help foster a strong sense of community and inspire students to live their faith both inside and outside of the classroom.

Spiritual Development and Support

The Chaplaincy is dedicated to supporting every student on their spiritual journey. Whether students are exploring their faith for the first time or are looking to deepen their understanding, our Chaplain is always available to provide guidance, support, and pastoral care. We offer regular opportunities for Confession, spiritual direction, and reflection, ensuring that each student feels equipped to navigate life's challenges with faith, hope, and love.

Retreats and Pilgrimages

We believe that spiritual growth is nurtured in moments of quiet reflection and communal prayer. To support this, we offer regular retreats for all year groups. These retreats are a chance for students to step away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, deepen their prayer life, and grow in their relationship with God. Pilgrimages to significant Catholic sites also play an important role in helping students to connect more deeply with their faith and heritage.

Service and Charity

Catholic social teaching is integral to our Chaplaincy, and we place a strong emphasis on service to others. Our students are encouraged to put their faith into action by participating in a variety of charitable initiatives, both locally and globally. From fundraising events to volunteering opportunities, we work to foster a spirit of charity and justice, helping students to live out the values of Christ and serve those in need.

A Supportive Environment for All

The Chaplaincy is a place of welcome, where all students, regardless of their background or faith journey, can find support and encouragement. We are committed to creating a school environment where each person is treated with dignity and respect, fostering a sense of unity, peace, and love. Our Chaplaincy is open to all who seek spiritual guidance, and we are here to offer support in times of joy and struggle alike.

Get Involved

We encourage all students to take an active role in the spiritual life of the school. Whether it's by helping to organise Morning Prayer, taking part in a retreat, engaging in one of our service projects or participating in the Faith Club, there are numerous opportunities for students to get involved and grow in their faith.
