Please note that we are currently reviewing our Key Stage 3 and 4 offer. The information set out below will be updated when the review has been completed.
In Key Stage 3 (Years 7 and 8) all students follow a broad and balanced curriculum, designed to introduce them to all the main subject areas and to provide them with the skills to a solid foundation for further studies.
In Key Stage 4 (Years 9, 10 & 11), all students must continue to follow a set of core subjects - this is a legal requirement of the National Curriculum. Beyond these core subjects, there is choice so that individual interests and talents can be developed.
Students and parents/carers will receive guidance and support during the Lent Term to make sure that they are fully were aware of what is involved in each of the optional subjects studied in Years 9, 10 & 11. The Options Evening is an opportunity for taster lessons in the subjects that are not taught at Key Stage 3 to about them in a practical setting. Finally parents/carers are invited in to tour the school and drop in on lessons in the optional subjects.
