The John Fisher School is one of 170 voluntary-aided schools under the trusteeship of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark. The Archdiocese covers the London Boroughs south of the Thames, the County of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.
Our Archbishop is Archbishop John Wilson who is the 11th Archbishop of Southwark, appointed on 10th June 2019.
The school benefits from the commitment of a priest chaplain being at the school. The Chaplain is a vital part of The John Fisher School’s contemporary life, looking after the day to day life of the Chapel, leading on collective worship, praying for the community, meeting with students, parents/carers and staff, and organising the many special events that take place in the Chapel on an annual basis.
The Chaplain is integral to the pastoral care team at John Fisher. The Chaplain is trained in this area and works in collaboration with the spiritual life team, school inclusion team and other senior members. Students are encouraged to meet the Chaplain to discuss any issue that might be causing worry or pain, and conversations are held in confidence. The Chaplain helps to organise regular confession sessions, house masses and form group reflections. The current Chaplain is former student Fr James Clark.
Our school is one of six Catholic schools in the parish of St John the Baptist, whose parish priest is Canon John Weatherill. The John Fisher School Chapel is a 'Daughter Chapel' of the parish.
You can contact the school's Chaplain by emailing email@example.com for the attention of Fr Clark.
