The Surrey National Golf Course hosted the John Fisher Sports Gala Dinner on Saturday night. The event provided an opportunity for staff, parents, alumni and guests to reminisce on past victories and ensure that John Fisher is in a position to continue its outstanding sporting traditions. Notable sporting alumni attending the Dinner included Martyn Rooney, George Skivington, Kieran Treadwell, Chris Murtagh, Alex Dombrandt and Oscar Borg.

Compered by Roger Dakin the evening raised funds through raffles, a Silent Auction and Main Auction. We are very greatful for all of the prizes that were donated. Highlights included: 2003 Rugby World Cup winning signed shirt; Simon Zebo's match worn Munster squad signed shirt; Leigh Halfpenny signed Lions shirt; a specially commissioned framed painting that encapsulates John Fisher's sporting endeavours; corporate hospitality at The Oaks raceday.

The highlight, and possibly most entertaining part of the evening was the Q&A session with Martyn Rooney, George Skivington and special guest Alec Stewart.
