The JFA

Every parent/carer and member of staff at The John Fisher School is automatically a member of The John Fisher Association (JFA).

There is no membership fee. A registered charity, The JFA undertakes activities which contribute financially and socially to the school.

The funds raised by The JFA are used to finance many of the extra-curricular activities from sport to music and some curricular subjects.

The school is proud of the positive rapport it fosters amongst parents and staff and welcomes parental support and involvement in its busy calendar and in the daily life of the school itself.

This year alone, the JFA have helped fund the developing of the new school website, support subject leaders with new resources for students to use and provide ongoing funds to help maintain the school minibuses.

Without the fundraising efforts of the JFA, the school would struggle to maintain its independent school range of activities on a state school budget.

The biggest event of the year is the school fete. This year it was moved to Sunday, rather than the Monday, as the JFA look to make changes to maximise funds. The largest out door fete in the south-east of England, the fete brings together live music, stalls, games and a huge range of food and drink. Over 4,000 people came this year, raising significant funds.

    The JFA also run:

Ladies Fashion Show and Pop-Up shop (June 9th 7pm)
St Patricks Day dinner and dance
      Annual dinners
      Quiz nights
