Another Debating Win for Fisher

Another debating win for Fisher! Through to the semi-finals of the UNA debating competition.

On 16th March our two Yr 12 debaters were up against Nonsuch High School for Girls in the Quarter finals of the United Nations Association competition. The motion debated was ' This House believes that the International Development Budget should be spent on housing refugees in the UK' We were opposing the motion. Aaron Conmee and Mark Whiteley put forward an excellent set of arguments. They were well prepared having researched and planned their points over three weeks. They were also grilled by our Yr 10 debating club the day before the competition. Both students argued confidently and the judges were impressed by their use of analogy in their speeches.  The semi finals will either be against Sutton Grammar or  Glenthorne... Miss Smith will keep us informed!
